I have two questions about Media Preview before I try it.
1) Can I still use it if I have K-Lite codec pack and/or FFDShow installed without problems?
2) Does it use the same thumbnail cache location as the Windows 7 explorer? \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\
If it has its own, where is it located?
Thanks.
Media Preview questions
Re: Media Preview questions
1/ Yes. You can install Media Preview and then K-Lite, K-Lite will detect Media Preview and re-configure it to let Windows handle some file types.
The other way around also works, Media Preview will simply override K-Lite thumbnailing settings. FFDShow doesn't have any thumbnailing abilities so there aren't any issues with it.
2/ Media Preview uses the regular system cache as a Level 1 cache. The latest available beta enables a L2 cache install at C:\MediaPreview or something like that, but it should be moved to \AppData in later beta.
